On September 10, 2009 the Brandywine dining room was filled with over 100 people from the community who wanted to help recognize the exemplary service and support of those provided to Berks County seniors. Keynote speaker, Scott D. Wagner who serves as Pennsylvania's Deputy Adjutant General for Veterans Affairs touched on the importance of seniors and their role in the community.
The following honorees receive a 2009 senior award followed by the category of their winnings:
Emily Bieber-Student of the Year
Gene Burkhart-Senior of the Year
goggleWorks-Business of the Year
Bill Blumer, Esquire-Heritage Person of the Year
Southern Berks Regional EMS-Lifetime Achievement
All proceeds from ticket sales were donated to the Meals on Wheels program.
